Would you like to spend a magical Easter holiday? Come to Alsace! Our beautiful region celebrates spring and Easter every year with enchanting decorations and festive events. Here are the highlights not to be missed!
As throughout France, the Easter weekend is an opportunity to give and enjoy chocolates — more specifically chocolate eggs, as well as rabbits, hens, and pralines...
Did you know? In Alsace, it is the Easter hare (not the Easter bunny, nor the church bells) that brings chocolates to the children.
Several renowned Alsatian chocolate shops will allow you to stock up on chocolates to delight your taste buds (e.g. the Chocolaterie Stoffel in Ribeauvillé).
The quintessential Easter speciality of Alsace is the lamala (or lammele). This is an egg-rich biscuit baked in a terracotta mould shaped like a lamb — so adorable that it is simply impossible to resist!

In spring, the Vosges mountains and the vineyards regain their colours, as do the fruit trees. It is the perfect season to stroll along the vines and through the wine-growing paths. Alsace in spring is truly worth the journey!
Each year, spring and Easter markets take over the streets of numerous Alsatian towns. Here are some highlights not to be missed.
On Sunday 29 March (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Ribeauvillé will host its traditional peasant spring market.
Located on the market square, it will welcome around thirty exhibitors, along with a refreshment stand and a light catering area. You will discover local produce (honey, cheeses...) as well as a wealth of spring decorations (decorated wooden chalets and streets, exhibitors and artists dressed in peasant costumes...).
Children will not be forgotten, with activities specially dedicated to them: a farm education experience ("Ped'Alsace") and pony rides.
And as every year, the best Kougelhopf competition will take place during the spring market.
From 2 to 26 April 2026 (daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), "Colmar Celebrates Spring" returns once again to the Place des Dominicains and the Place de l'Ancienne Douane, where two Easter and spring markets will be set up.
The city of Colmar will be adorned with festive colours and beautiful decorations, offering a charming spring atmosphere right in the city centre.
Programme highlights:
Bonus: music lovers will be able to attend the Colmar Easter Festival.
From 28 March to 6 April 2026 (from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) on the Place de la Mairie, artisan chalets filled with local products will be presented in the charming town of Turckheim.
A special highlight in Turckheim: the Night Watchman's Rounds! From 2 to 6 April at 10 p.m., the night watchman in period costume will guide you through the heart of Turckheim and recount the history of the village.
In Kaysersberg — voted the favourite village of the French in 2017 — some twenty exhibitors will offer their products (decorations, wooden objects, Easter wreaths, candles...) over a weekend. A collectors' decorated egg exhibition and sale will also be organised.
Join us on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., for the Easter Preludes Market!

Riquewihr, one of the most emblematic villages along the Wine Route, will host its Easter market from 3 to 6 April (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) on the Place Fernand Zeyer.
The youngest visitors will enjoy activities designed especially for them (egg decorating, traditional carousel, helium balloon sales, egg hunt, carrot hunt...).
Adults may browse the stalls offering decorations, craft objects, and numerous local produce to savour.
